BJP Accuses Congress of U-Turn on Voter Roll Revision

BJP Accuses Congress of U-Turn on Voter Roll Revision

The BJP says Congress has changed its position on checking voter lists.

It says Congress once wanted duplicate, dead and incorrect names removed.

The BJP says Congress now opposes a similar checking exercise called Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.

BJP spokesperson Siddharth Yadav used examples from several states to support his claim.

He said millions of names were removed during different revision exercises.

The BJP argues that Congress is criticizing the process because it has lost elections.

Congress and other opposition parties have raised concerns about names being removed from voter lists.

The BJP says the opposition should check the lists carefully but should not blame the election process for its losses.

Yadav also criticized Rahul Gandhi’s changing allegations about election officials.
