AFI Honors 10 New TV Shows
The American Film Institute (AFI) has announced its list of the top 10 TV shows of 2025.
This year, all the shows on the list are new, meaning none were on the list last year.
Most of the shows are dramas and come from streaming services like Netflix, Apple TV, and Disney+.
Netflix and Apple TV each have three shows on the list.
The shows are chosen because they represent the best in TV for the year.
The AFI will celebrate these shows with a special lunch in January 2026.
AFI's 2025 Top 10 TV list features all new shows, none from previous years.
Nine out of ten shows are dramas, and most are from streaming platforms.
Netflix and Apple TV lead with three shows each on the list.
HBO Max's The Pitt, which won an Emmy, is among the honored shows.
The AFI Awards luncheon will be held on January 9, 2026, in Los Angeles.
