Two of 39 Bengal Travelers Found Safe After Nepal Floods

Flash floods in Nepal caused many people to go missing.

Thirty-nine people from West Bengal were reported missing.

Two people from one family were later contacted and found safe.

Reports placed them near Birgunj, while another account said they were in Kathmandu.

The other 37 people had not been contacted.

Some had traveled as tourists, some on pilgrimage, and some along the Kailash Mansarovar route.

Families asked for a WhatsApp group with regular updates and photographs of rescued people.

The West Bengal government said it would help relatives who want to travel to Nepal or Tibet.

Officials said the floods followed an ice-rock landslide that blocked a river near Nepal’s border with China.
