Karnataka Directs Hospitals to Prepare for COVID-19 Surge
Health officials in Karnataka are getting ready for more COVID-19 patients.
The government told hospitals to make sure they have enough beds with oxygen, ventilators, and medicines.
They also said doctors and hospital staff should wear masks.
Most cases are mild, and the recovery time is quick.
People who are pregnant, elderly, or have other health problems should wear masks in crowded places, and children with flu-like symptoms should stay home from school.
Karnataka's medical education minister directed hospitals to prepare for a possible increase in COVID-19 cases.
Hospitals must assess the availability of oxygenated beds, ventilators, and necessary medicines.
Instructions include maintaining stocks of antipyretics, antitussives, steroids, and anticoagulants.
Doctors and officials visiting hospitals are expected to wear masks.
The government advises mask-wearing for vulnerable groups and keeping children with flu-like symptoms home from school.
