BJP Accuses Mamata of Fundamentalism in Bengal
The BJP, a political party in India, said that the leader of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, is making the state unsafe by promoting fundamentalism.
They compared the situation in West Bengal to the tensions in Bangladesh.
The BJP's leader, Jamal Siddiqui, even said that Mamata Banerjee is like a leader of a terrorist group called ISIS.
The BJP promised to 'liberate' the state from her leadership.
Meanwhile, Humayun Kabir, a former Trinamool Congress member, has formed his own party, the Janata Unnayan Party, to challenge Mamata Banerjee.
He is trying to attract Muslim voters by building a Babri Masjid replica and claiming widespread Muslim support.
However, his influence is mostly limited to his native Murshidabad, and his success in splitting the Muslim vote is uncertain.
Mamata Banerjee plans to counter this by deploying influential Muslim leaders against him.
