iPhone 18 Pro Could Improve Night Video With Variable Aperture
The iPhone 18 Pro might get a camera part called a variable aperture.
This part can make the lens opening bigger or smaller.
A bigger opening lets in more light when a scene is dark.
That could make night videos look clearer and less grainy.
It may also help moving subjects look more natural in videos.
In bright sunlight, the opening could become smaller to control the light.
The camera might also create more natural-looking blurry backgrounds.
Reports say the phone could get a similar improvement for its zoom camera, but Apple has not confirmed these details.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are reportedly being considered for Apple’s first variable-aperture camera.
A physically wider aperture could let in more light, producing cleaner shadows and less noise in dark video.
The feature may help preserve more natural shutter speeds when recording in difficult lighting.
A variable aperture could also improve daytime exposure and provide more natural background separation.
Reports also suggest the Pro models may receive a wider-aperture telephoto camera for better low-light zoom.
