Hyderabad Open Plots Become Garbage Dumps, Residents Demand Action
People in parts of Hyderabad say rubbish is piling up in empty plots near their homes.
The waste includes household garbage, old furniture and building debris.
Residents say it smells bad and attracts mosquitoes, insects and stray dogs.
Some plots also have thick plants growing in them.
People are worried this could affect the health and safety of children and older residents.
They say both city authorities and plot owners should help solve the problem.
Residents want the rubbish cleared and steps taken to stop people dumping more.
Residents say vacant plots in numerous Hyderabad neighbourhoods are being used to dump household waste, furniture and construction debris.
Reportedly affected areas include Tolichowki, Shaikpet, Kondapur, Miyapur, Nizampet, Bachupally, Manikonda and others.
Residents say the waste causes foul smells and attracts mosquitoes, insects, stray dogs and pests; overgrown vegetation adds to safety concerns.
