Mangaluru's Twin Railway Under Bridge Delayed by Approach Road Setbacks
Imagine two new tunnels under the train tracks in Mangaluru, meant to make it easier for cars to get around.
The train company finished their part, like putting in the tunnels.
However, the city's construction team is late building the roads to get to these tunnels.
They hoped to finish by the end of May, but early rain caused delays.
The city officials are now hoping to finish the roads when the weather is dry, possibly by mid-June.
Once the roads are ready, people will no longer have to take long detours, which will help ease traffic.
Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) is behind schedule on approach roads for the twin Railway Under Bridge (RuB).
Southern Railway completed critical works, including pushing concrete boxes, by April 23.
MSCL attributes delays to the early arrival of rains, halting road work.
The RuBs were expected to be commissioned by May-end, easing traffic congestion.
Authorities aim to complete road work during dry spells, with the Railways addressing drainage.
