India Boosts Defence with New Torpedo and Tejas Engine
India is working on making its own weapons and equipment for its military.
One important project is a new torpedo called ALWT that can destroy enemy submarines.
It has passed tests by the Navy and will be made in India.
Also, India's Tejas fighter jet uses engines from GE, an American company.
The supply of these engines has been delayed, which is a problem because the planes can't fly without them.
The company is trying to solve the supply problems and promised to deliver engines by the end of the year.
This is important because India wants a lot of these fighter jets to protect itself, so the faster they can get the necessary engines and equipment, the better.
The Advanced Light Weight Torpedo (ALWT) has completed user trials by the Navy.
The ALWT is designed to destroy enemy submarines.
Bharat Dynamics (BDL) is likely to manufacture the ALWT.
GE engines for the Tejas fighter jet are facing supply-chain delays.
GE is expected to deliver eight engines by the end of December.
