INS Sutlej Completes 18th Joint Hydrographic Survey with Mauritius
An Indian navy ship named INS Sutlej just finished a big job helping the country of Mauritius.
They mapped a large part of the ocean floor, like drawing a detailed map of the underwater world.
This helps Mauritius understand its waters better for fishing and protecting the environment.
Sailors from Mauritius also got training on how to use special mapping equipment.
Besides mapping, the ship also worked with Mauritius to keep the ocean safe from pirates and keep track of who is sailing in their waters.
They formally handed over the map information to Mauritius officials.
This is the 18th time India and Mauritius have done this together, showing they are good friends and partners in the ocean.
INS Sutlej completed its 18th joint hydrographic survey with Mauritius, covering 35,000 square nautical miles.
The survey aids Mauritius in marine charting, coastal regulation, resource management, and environmental planning for its Blue Economy.
Six Mauritian personnel received hands-on training in modern hydrographic techniques onboard INS Sutlej.
Joint EEZ surveillance and anti-piracy patrols were conducted with the Mauritius National Coast Guard.
The fair sheet of the survey was handed over to Mauritian authorities, reinforcing the maritime partnership and regional cooperation.
