Mysore Rajamatha Donates Silver Lamps to Tirumala Temple
The Queen of Mysore gave two big silver lamps to a famous temple called Tirumala.
This is like when a queen or king used to give gifts to temples a long time ago.
The lamps are very heavy, and they are lit inside the temple.
This act continues an old tradition from about 300 years ago when the rulers of Mysore used to do the same thing.
The Queen gave the lamps to the temple officials, continuing a tradition of royal support.
The Rajamatha of Mysore gifted two silver lamps to the Tirumala temple.
The lamps are giant-sized, also known as Akhanda Deepalu.
This act revives a tradition of patronage by Mysore royalty.
The lamps were presented on May 19, 2025.
The lamps were handed over to TTD officials at Ranganayakula Mandapam.
