Karnataka Rejects Centre’s Two-Year Fuel Machine Recalibration Circular

Karnataka Rejects Centre’s Two-Year Fuel Machine Recalibration Circular

The Union Government issued a rule saying fuel pumps should be checked every two years instead of every year.

Karnataka said it will not follow that rule.

The state government said regular checks help ensure people receive the fuel they pay for.

Minister Rizwan Arshad questioned why the Union Government changed the checking schedule.

Karnataka inspected 805 fuel stations.

Officials found problems at 101 of them.

Those stations faced cases and penalties.

The state said it would continue opposing the new circular.
