J-K orders stray dog control in schools, hospitals
The government in Jammu and Kashmir has told city officials to make sure schools, hospitals, and other important places are safe from stray dogs.
They have two weeks to find all these places and mark them.
They must also fix any broken walls or gates to keep dogs out.
Every three months, they will check these places to make sure there are no dogs.
They must follow special rules to treat the dogs nicely and not hurt them.
If they don't do these things on time, they might get in trouble.
J-K government directed urban local bodies to map and secure schools, hospitals, stadiums, and transport hubs from stray dogs within two weeks.
Mandatory three-monthly inspections and humane ABC-based removal of stray dogs have been ordered.
Institutions must secure premises by repairing boundary walls, installing gates, and other structural measures.
Budget estimates for the work must be submitted by December 15, with fortnightly progress monitoring by district magistrates.
Compliance report must be submitted within 30 days, with warnings of disciplinary action for non-compliance.
