PM Internship Scheme's Second Pilot Starts August 1
The government is running a program called PMIS to help young people get internships at big companies.
The second round of the program is starting soon with a goal to find 700,000 internships.
In the first round, it was tough for companies to hire interns within the time limit.
Interns are being paid about Rs 15,000 a month on average.
Some companies are also offering food and housing.
The government is thinking about combining this internship program with another program to create more jobs.
The PM Internship Scheme (PMIS) is launching its second pilot on August 1.
The second pilot aims for 700,000 internships in FY26, a six-fold increase from the FY25 target.
The first pilot faced challenges, with many companies missing the 45-day deadline.
Interns in the first pilot received an average monthly stipend of around Rs 15,000.
The government is considering merging the ELI scheme with PMIS to boost job creation.
