Dahisar Radar Station Relocation Confirmed by Government
The government has confirmed that a radar station in Dahisar, Mumbai, will be moved to Gorai.
This decision was announced by the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and shared by Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis.
The move aims to free up land for redevelopment, which has been restricted due to the radar station's presence.
This will allow for the construction of new homes and infrastructure.
Aaditya Thackeray, a leader from the Shiv Sena (UBT), initially called the reports fake news but later the government confirmed the relocation.
The Maharashtra government will provide 20 acres of land for the new radar station in Gorai, and 29 acres in Dahisar will be turned into a public garden.
This change is expected to benefit many families living in old buildings and unlock significant redevelopment potential.
