Wanaparthy Concludes Ninth Poshan Maah With Nutrition Push

Wanaparthy district held an event to mark the end of its ninth Poshan Maah.

Collector Adarsh Surabhi said programmes are working to reduce anaemia among women and pregnant women.

He said identifying anaemia early and providing treatment can help protect mothers and children.

He also asked health workers and Anganwadi workers to work together.

The number of children with severe acute malnutrition fell from 438 last year to 106.

Surabhi urged staff to test children who may be severely or moderately malnourished.

He said children needing help should receive treatment and better nutrition at rehabilitation centres.

He also advised feeding newborns only breast milk for their first six months.
