DMK’s Independent Moves Split Opposition in Parliament

DMK’s Independent Moves Split Opposition in Parliament

The DMK is a big political party in India.

In July 2026, it decided not to join a protest walkout in the upper house of Parliament.

Instead, it tried to change a law about exam papers.

In the lower house, it was the only opposition party to talk about a bill that could hurt national pride.

The DMK also wants to stop the NEET exam, which many students find unfair.

Because the DMK has a lot of seats, it could help or stop a new law that would give more seats to women in Parliament.

The party is trying to show it is different from the main opposition group led by the Congress party.
