India Considers Single Border Force for Improved Border Security
Imagine India wants to protect its borders better, like having one special team in charge.
A Member of Parliament suggested this, like how South Africa does it.
They think it's needed because the current system might not be very organized or use the best technology.
Years ago, after a war, some important people also suggested a similar idea: to have a department that helps all the border protection groups work together.
India is considering establishing a Single Border Guarding Force.
The proposal follows a recommendation from Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Madhavrao Gochade.
The MP suggests an integrated agency like South Africa's Border Management Authority.
The MP cited the 'absence of a unified command and tech-driven surveillance' as a concern.
A Group of Ministers after the Kargil War in 2001 recommended a Department of Border Management.
