Mumbai-Gujarat train services disrupted by heavy rain

Mumbai-Gujarat train services disrupted by heavy rain

Heavy rain in Palghar, Maharashtra, caused the water level at a railway bridge to cross the danger mark.

This led to flooding of the railway tracks between Gholvad and Umbergaon, disrupting train services between Mumbai and Gujarat.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Palghar and an orange alert for Thane and Mumbai, predicting extremely heavy rainfall.

As a result, several long-distance and passenger trains have been cancelled, diverted, or rescheduled to ensure passenger safety.
