Survivor Accuses Pressure to Protect Filmmaker P.T. Kunhummuhammed
A woman working in films has accused a well-known filmmaker, P.T. Kunhummuhammed, of doing something inappropriate to her.
She says this happened while they were choosing films for a big festival.
After she told the police, she feels like people are trying to make her drop the case.
They say the filmmaker is old and not well, so she should let it go.
She also says the police took a long time to take her seriously.
A group called the Women in Cinema Collective is upset about how this case is being handled.
They want the authorities to act quickly and fairly.
A woman film professional accused veteran filmmaker P.T. Kunhummuhammed of sexual misconduct during a film selection process at IFFK.
The survivor alleges intense pressure from intermediaries to withdraw her complaint, citing the filmmaker's age and health.
She claims the police delayed registering the case and allowed time for the accused to seek anticipatory bail.
The Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) criticized the handling of the case, highlighting delays and lack of intervention.
The controversy has sparked discussions on institutional apathy and power imbalances in the film industry.
