Vikas Khanna Shortlisted for James Beard Award

Vikas Khanna Shortlisted for James Beard Award

Vikas Khanna, a famous Indian chef, has been chosen as one of the finalists for a very important food award called the James Beard Award.

This award is like the Oscars for the food world.

He is the only Indian chef on the list for the Best Chef in New York State.

Vikas is very happy and grateful because his late sister, Radhika, always believed in him and helped him a lot.

He remembers how she stood by him when he cooked his first dinner for the James Beard event in 2004.

She even arranged for him to learn English better so he could represent India well.

Vikas says this award is very special because it feels like his sister's dream is coming true.

He also mentions that he stopped drinking champagne after that first dinner, as his sister said the next toast would be when he wins a Michelin star.

Vikas started his journey in America with nothing, but his sister's belief in him kept him going.
