Tripura to become data storage hub
Tripura is planning to become a big place for storing data in the northeast part of India.
The Chief Minister, Manik Saha, started building a new data centre worth Rs 200 crore.
This will help the state meet the growing need for data storage.
Right now, Tripura has three data centres, but they are not enough.
The new centre will also create jobs for IT professionals in Tripura, so they don't have to move to big cities like Bengaluru or Mumbai.
The Prime Minister wants India to increase its data storage capacity by 2030.
This will help India store more of the data it produces.
Tripura is set to become a data storage hub in the northeast with a new Rs 200 crore data centre.
The new data centre will have a storage capacity of 5 megawatts.
Existing data centres in Tripura have a total capacity of 1800 terabytes, which is insufficient.
The initiative aims to develop an IT ecosystem and create jobs for local IT professionals.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target to increase India's data storage capacity to 8 gigabytes by 2030.
