High Court Reinstates CISF Constable After 27 Years
A CISF constable who was dismissed from service in 1998 for allegedly assaulting a senior officer has been reinstated by the Punjab and Haryana High Court after 27 years.
The court found that the disciplinary proceedings against him were unfair and arbitrary.
The enquiry did not properly evaluate the evidence, overlooked contradictions, and did not consider medical records.
Out of 10 witnesses, only 4 supported the allegations against the constable.
The court noted that the constable had a long and largely unblemished service record and that past minor disciplinary actions did not amount to habitual misconduct.
The high court quashed the order of removal and directed the constable's reinstatement with all consequential benefits.
