Haryana's sex ratio improves to 923 in 2025

Haryana, a state in India, has seen a big improvement in the number of baby girls born compared to baby boys.

In 2025, there were 923 girls born for every 1,000 boys, which is a big jump from 910 in 2024.

The government has been working hard to stop people from finding out the sex of the baby before birth and from having abortions based on sex.

They have been doing this by checking pharmacies and clinics, and even shutting down some that were not following the rules.

The chief minister said that when their party came to power in 2014, the number was much lower, at 871.

They have been working with a national campaign called 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' which means 'save the girl child, educate the girl child'.

Some areas in Haryana did even better, like Panchkula, which had 971 girls born for every 1,000 boys.

But some areas like Sonipat saw a decrease.

Overall, the government is happy with the progress and hopes to keep improving.
