Delhi High Court Halts Audit of Ajmer Sharif Dargah Finances
The Delhi High Court has temporarily stopped the government from auditing the financial records of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
The court made this decision in response to a complaint from the Dargah's management.
The management argued that the government hadn't followed the correct procedures before planning the audit.
The court agreed, stating the required steps under the law weren't taken.
As a result, the audit is paused until a new hearing on July 28th.
Delhi High Court has halted the CAG's audit of Ajmer Sharif Dargah financial records.
The court issued an interim order on the plea of Anjuman Moinia Fakhria Chishtiya Khuddam Khwaja Sahib.
The petitioner contested a notice from the Ministry of Minority Affairs regarding the audit.
The court found credibility in the petitioners' claim that Section 20 of the CAG Act wasn't followed.
The court has directed that no further steps by the CAG shall be taken until July 28.
