CSIS Recommends Key Reforms for Modi 3.0
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has suggested 30 reforms for India's Modi 3.0 government to boost the economy.
These reforms aim to make India more competitive globally.
Some key areas include simplifying taxes, making it easier for foreign companies to invest, and improving rules for businesses.
The CSIS says that only one reform has been fully completed, and there is still a lot of work to be done.
They suggest that the next big step should be to reduce duty inversion in the upcoming Union Budget.
This means changing the taxes on goods so that it's easier and cheaper to make things in India rather than importing them.
CSIS recommended 30 economic reforms for India's Modi 3.0 government to boost competitiveness.
Only one reform has been fully completed, with one partially completed.
Key reforms include reducing duty inversion, simplifying GST, and easing FDI restrictions.
Other areas of focus are improving bankruptcy processes, labour laws, and capital markets.
CSIS suggests using the Union Budget to address duty inversion to boost domestic manufacturing.
