Meghalaya Approves Skill-Based Learning for Students
The Meghalaya government has decided to teach students practical skills like farming and traditional crafts from their families and communities.
This will be part of their health and physical education class.
Students can choose skills based on what their parents or community knows.
The government also allowed people who didn't finish school earlier to take the 10th-grade exam again.
They announced awards for arts, social services, and sports, and made some rules for border areas.
They also prepared for Republic Day celebrations.
Meghalaya government introduces community-integrated skill learning (CISL) for students of classes 6 to 10.
CISL will be integrated with the existing health and physical education subject, focusing on practical skills from families and communities.
Students can choose skills based on their interests and family or community background, such as farming or traditional crafts.
Private candidates will be allowed to appear in the secondary school leaving certificate (SSLC) exams.
