Composer Laura Karpman Hid Alan Silvestri Homage in Captain America Score
The person who wrote the music for the new Captain America movie, Laura Karpman, put a secret musical message in the score.
She hid a little bit of the old Captain America music, made by a composer named Alan Silvestri, inside the new music for Sam Wilson.
Karpman said it's like a hidden treasure for people to find.
She also got the job because the movie's director, Nia DaCosta, knew she was good at writing music for Marvel movies.
Karpman even used music from New Orleans because the main character, Sam, is from there.
She also took inspiration from old spy movies to create the music's feel.
Composer Laura Karpman revealed she hid an homage to Alan Silvestri's iconic Captain America theme in her score for 'Captain America: Brave New World'.
The subtle musical quote is reportedly embedded within Sam Wilson's new theme, known as the 'Brave New World' theme.
Karpman, the third composer for Captain America films, also scored 'What If...', 'The Marvels', 'Ms. Marvel', and 'Marvel's Zombies'.
Her score for 'Brave New World' draws inspiration from mid-century modernism and classic political thrillers.
Karpman incorporated New Orleans second-line percussion into the score, reflecting Sam Wilson's origins.
