CPI Urges Relief for Overburdened Secretariat Staff
The CPI leader wrote a letter to the Chief Minister about the problems faced by village and ward secretariat employees.
He said they have too much work from 14 departments and extra duties during elections.
This is making them very stressed, and some have even died from health issues.
He asked the Chief Minister to reduce their workload and make their jobs better so they can help people without getting too stressed.
CPI state secretary G Eswaraiah wrote to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu about the problems faced by village and ward secretariat employees.
Secretariat staff are burdened with responsibilities from 14 departments and additional duties as Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during elections.
Four secretariat employees reportedly died in Kurnool district due to stress-related health issues caused by overwork.
Eswaraiah criticized the practice of issuing show-cause notices and suspensions against employees who fail to meet unrealistic targets.
He urged the Chief Minister to reduce workload, stop non-mandatory duties, follow Election Commission guidelines, and ensure humane working conditions.
