Gujarat University Discontinues MSW Program, Changes Commerce Timings
Gujarat University is stopping its Master of Social Work (MSW) program because it wasn't following the rules.
This program was special because students paid more to attend.
Also, classes at the School of Commerce will now be in the morning instead of the afternoon.
The university is also hiring temporary teachers to fill open spots in some programs until they can hire permanent ones.
These changes were decided at a meeting of the university's leaders, which lasted from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The university might bring the MSW program back later, but not in the same way.
Gujarat University (GU) will discontinue its Master of Social Work (MSW) program.
The MSW program was self-financed and operated under the Higher Payment Programme (HPP) mode.
GU cited non-compliance with prescribed guidelines as the reason for discontinuing the MSW program.
The School of Commerce will shift its class timings from the afternoon to the morning.
The university will fill vacant postgraduate seats with contractual teachers.
