Bengaluru Forest Department Recovers 120 Acres of Encroached Land
Imagine Bengaluru is like a big playground that's getting smaller because people are building on the green spaces.
The government wants to make sure the playground stays nice and green, so the forest department is taking back land that people were using without permission.
They took back a big area of land, about the size of 120 football fields!
This land is worth a lot of money and helps keep the city's air clean.
The government is also planting trees to make the playground even better.
The Karnataka Forest Department recovered 120 acres of encroached forest land in Bengaluru.
The land, located in Kadugodi Plantation, is worth over ₹4,000 crore.
The operation was conducted on the instructions of Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre.
The department cleared encroachments with police assistance, marking boundaries and planting saplings.
A total of 248 acres of encroached forest land, worth over ₹8,000 crore, has been cleared in Bengaluru in the last two years.
