India's Richest Control ₹187.5 Lakh Crore Amid Wealth Boom
A new rich list says 1,810 people in India together own wealth worth ₹187.5 lakh crore.
That amount is larger than the economies of Switzerland and Singapore.
Many of the new fortunes came from manufacturing, defence, green energy, medicines and artificial intelligence.
Wealth in aerospace and defence grew especially quickly.
However, some businesses that sell directly to households became less wealthy.

The 1,810 people on the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2026 hold combined wealth of ₹187.5 lakh crore, or $1.96 trillion.
India has produced more than two new billionaires monthly for three consecutive years, according to the list.
Aerospace and defence wealth rose 69%, while green energy and industrial products each increased 31%.
Wealth declined in consumer durables, food and beverages, consumer goods and retail sectors linked to household spending.
The top-10 entry threshold rose to ₹1.89 lakh crore, while the top-100 threshold reached ₹33,000 crore.
