Over 12,000 Afghan Refugees Forcibly Deported from Iran and Pakistan
Imagine many Afghan families who had to leave their homes and live in other countries like Iran and Pakistan.
Recently, a very large number of these families, over 12,000 people, were sent back to Afghanistan all in one day.
This happened because things were becoming very difficult and scary for them in Pakistan.
The police were warning people not to rent them houses, and some of their homes were even torn down.
Now, these families are back in Afghanistan, and some of them are receiving help.
Over 12,000 Afghan refugees were forcibly deported from Iran and Pakistan on Sunday.
The returnees included 2,194 families comprising 12,666 individuals.
Refugees returned through various border crossings including Nimroz, Kandahar, Helmand, Herat, and Nangarhar.
Afghan refugees in Pakistan reported demolishing of shelters and warnings to locals against renting property to them.
