Ola Electric Shares Surge After Loan Repayment
The share price of Ola Electric, an electric vehicle company, went up by over 9% on December 19.
This happened because the company's founder, Bhavish Aggarwal, paid back a loan of ₹260 crore.
He did this by selling a small part of his personal shares in the company.
This sale also freed up 3.93% of shares that were previously pledged.
After this, the founder and his group still own 34.6% of the company.
The company said this sale doesn't change how they run the business or their future plans.
Even though the shares went up on this day, they are still much lower than they were a year ago.
Ola Electric's share price surged by over 9% on December 19.
The increase followed the repayment of a ₹260 crore promoter-level loan.
The loan was repaid through the sale of a portion of the founder's personal shares.
All 3.93% of previously pledged shares were released, eliminating all promoter pledges.
The promoter group still holds 34.6% of Ola Electric with no change in control or long-term commitment.
