Bengaluru Mandates 7-Day Final e-Khata, 60-Day New Khata Processing
Imagine you need a special paper, called a 'khata', for your house or property in Bengaluru.
The city government now says they must give you the final version of this paper within a week after you apply.
If you need a brand new khata, it will take up to 60 days.
If your khata has a mistake or there's a problem, they promise to fix it in about a month.
You can do all of this online from your computer or phone, so you don't have to go to any government buildings anymore.
This is to make things faster, easier, and to stop people from paying extra money to speed things up or get unfair help.
Urban local bodies must process final e-Khata applications within seven days.
New Khata registrations are to be completed within 60 days of application.
Applications for Khata transfer, corrections, or dispute resolution must be cleared within one month.
Property owners are required to apply online for e-Khata documents, eliminating the need to visit government offices.
The new faceless, contactless system aims to prevent corruption and citizen harassment, with automatic approval for Khata applications now activated.
