Centre Supports KTPS Expansion in Telangana
Imagine a power plant in Telangana that makes electricity.
The government wants to make it bigger and better!
The central government in Delhi is helping out.
They've already given the okay for some environmental stuff.
Right now, the plant makes a lot of electricity, and the plan is to make even more by adding two new big machines.
They will get rid of some of the old machines.
The government will also help with getting coal and other things.
The local government will pay for the expansion.
It's all about making more electricity for everyone!
The Union Government is supporting the expansion of the Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS).
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change had cleared Stage-VII of KTPS in 2015.
The existing plant has an installed capacity of 1,800 MW.
TS Genco plans to decommission older stations by 2025.
The Centre will assist with clearances, coal linkages, and other needs.
