CJI promotes mediation as law's evolution
The Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant, talked about how mediation is a good way to solve problems in court.
He said it's successful and saves money because both sides can agree on a solution they like.
The Supreme Court has started a program called 'Mediation for Nation' to tell everyone, including lawyers and judges, that mediation is a good idea.
The CJI said that if people understand how mediation works, they can use it to solve old and new problems, even before going to court.
He also participated in a walk to raise awareness about mediation.
The CJI believes that mediation is not a sign of the law's weakness, but rather its highest evolution.
It is a true transition from a culture of adjudication to a culture of participation where we cultivate harmony.
CJI Surya Kant promoted mediation as a successful and cost-effective tool for dispute resolution.
He participated in a symbolic walk for 'Mediation Awareness' in Panaji.
The Supreme Court launched the 'Mediation for Nation' initiative to encourage stakeholders to use mediation.
