Safdarjung Hospital Adds Advanced Bladder and Nuclear Diagnostics

Safdarjung Hospital has opened a new centre to investigate difficult bladder problems.

Doctors will test how the bladder works and study related changes in the brain.

This may help them understand whether a problem comes from the bladder, the nervous system or both.

Officials say this type of testing will be tried in India for the first time.

The centre is expected to help around 5,000 patients every year.

The hospital has also added PET-CT and SPECT-CT scanning equipment.

These scanners can help doctors examine conditions such as cancer, heart problems and neurological diseases.

The new nuclear medicine services are expected to help 600–700 patients annually at an affordable cost.
