CJP to Review Government Promises as Fresh Protests Loom

The Cockroach Janta Party stopped its nationwide protest on July 25 after the government made several promises.

These promises concerned police cases against students and protesters.

They also included protection for peaceful protesters and compensation for families of deceased NEET-UG candidates.

CJP says the government has not clearly explained how it will keep those promises.

On August 18, the Supreme Court reportedly asked for one complete list of the police cases.

CJP says the government did not agree to provide the list.

The party will discuss the situation at a meeting on August 24.

It may decide to organize another peaceful nationwide protest.

CJP has asked students, volunteers and supporters to stay ready.
