Delhi PWD to Revive 21 Water Bodies for Flood Control
Imagine Delhi has lots of ponds and lakes that can help stop floods!
The government is going to fix up 21 of these water spots.
They found these spots can hold extra water when it rains a lot, preventing floods.
They'll clean up the lakes, build walls, and add trails.
Bhalswa Lake will be the first to get a makeover.
These changes will also help with improving water quality.
It is expected to help the city handle heavy rainfall better.
PWD is reviving 21 water bodies in West and Outer Delhi to control flooding.
The project is part of the Drainage Master Plan for the Alipur, Najafgarh and Kanjhawala basins.
Bhalswa Lake is the first water body selected for development.
The revival plan includes desilting, cleaning, and infrastructure improvements.
