Kohli Fastest to 28,000 Runs
Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket captain, has achieved a new milestone by becoming the fastest batter to reach 28,000 runs in international cricket.
He achieved this during the first ODI against New Zealand in Vadodara.
Kohli is now only the third player ever to cross the 28,000-run mark, joining legends Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara.
He reached this milestone quicker than both of them.
Kohli has been in great form since returning to international cricket and is close to several other records.
The Indian team has a strong squad for the ODI series against New Zealand, with Shubman Gill as the captain.
The first ODI was a special event as it was the first-ever men's international match at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
Fans were excited to see Kohli and Rohit Sharma in action, and the stadium was full with nearly 35,000 fans.
Kohli also mentioned that he is grateful for his journey and the happiness he brings to people through his sport.
He also talked about his approach to batting and how he focuses on the situation rather than milestones.
Additionally, Washington Sundar, an Indian all-rounder, suffered a side strain and will undergo a scan.
Despite the injury, he played a key role in India's successful run chase.
