Margherita Thermal Project Unsure Due to Coal Shortage
The government is rethinking a plan to build a power plant in Margherita, India.
The plan was to use coal from nearby mines, but there isn't enough coal available.
Because of this, the project might not be able to go ahead as originally planned.
The power company needs to make changes to their plans.
The power company asked for a large amount of coal, but the government has not heard back about dropping the project.
Power Ministry says Margherita Thermal Power Project may not be feasible due to insufficient coal.
The project was planned as a pit head plant using coal from North Eastern Coalfields.
APGCL was advised to revisit the Detailed Project Report (DPR).
APGCL had requested 4.11 MTPA coal from North Eastern Coalfields.
The Ministry of Power hasn't received any communication from APGCL about abandoning the project.
