Eastern Railway Announces Women’s Welfare Measures on Raksha Bandhan

Eastern Railway celebrated Raksha Bandhan by focusing on its women employees.

General Manager Gitika Pandey invited women to discuss their experiences and ideas.

The railway also recognised athletes Triyasha Paul, Soniya Thakur and Laxmi Hembrom.

It announced classes and workshops about wellness, money, nutrition, mental health and workplace safety.

A special counselling room will be created for employees who need private mental health support.

Facilities where women employees can eat and rest will also be improved.

Women now work in many railway jobs, including driving trains and working in yards and workshops.

Railway officials said the measures are intended to create a more respectful and supportive workplace.
