Odisha Launches Scholarship for SC/ST Overseas Studies
The Odisha government has started a new scholarship called 'Videsh Siksha Bruti' to help SC and ST students study abroad.
This scholarship gives up to ₹25 lakh each year to pay for tuition, living costs, and other needs.
Students who want this scholarship must be admitted to top universities ranked in the top 200 by QS World Rankings.
The government will choose 50 students every year, with spots for engineering, medical, and general education fields.
The application periods are twice a year: July–August and December–January.
This program starts in the 2025–26 school year.
Along with the scholarship, the government also gave job letters to 34 people for Group C and D positions in colleges.
Additionally, Odisha is the first state in India to get permission to check the quality of higher education schools through something called Academic Performance Audits.
