Jeffrey Archer Dies One Day Before Final Novel's Release
Jeffrey Archer was a British author who died at age 86.
His last full-length novel, Adam & Eve, was published the next day.
The story begins when two children are born on the same day in 1918.
One is born into an earl’s family, and the other into a shepherd’s family.
Their lives unfold during a time of great change and war.
The novel imagines what might have happened if Adolf Hitler had made a different choice in 1940.
Adam and Eve are made-up characters, while the historical events around them are real.
Archer said the book is both a love story and a thriller.
Jeffrey Archer died aged 86 on October 5, one day before Adam & Eve was published.
The novel was released on October 6, 2026, and is Archer’s final full-length novel.

Their story reaches September 15, 1940, and imagines a different decision by Adolf Hitler during the war.
