Home Guards Allege Caste Abuse by SDM in UP
Three home guards in Uttar Pradesh have accused their boss, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), of using bad words related to their caste and making them do hard exercises as punishment.
They say he also threatened them.
The home guards wrote letters to their bosses asking for action.
The SDM says he only scolded them for not helping a disabled person.
The bosses are looking into the matter to find out what really happened.
Three home guards accused the SDM of using casteist slurs and physically harassing them.
The incident occurred when a disabled person was brought before the SDM.
The home guards claimed they were made to do sit-ups and were threatened.
The complaint has been forwarded to the district magistrate for an inquiry.
