Supreme Court Hears Pleas Over Delhi Protest Crackdown

The Supreme Court began hearing cases about protesters detained in Delhi.

The cases also question an order restricting activities and a complaint that court orders were not followed.

The judges said they would give lawyers a chance to speak about their cases.

They planned to hear them in order across the courtroom.

Lawyer Kapil Sibal spoke about people being picked up from trains, according to the report.

He also raised the use of Section 163 and the suspension of internet service.

He referred to an earlier internet-related case called Anuradha Bhasin.

The hearing concerns actions taken against protesters on October 10.
