Champa Darwaja Hanuman Temple Keeps Hyderabad's Heritage Alive

Champa Darwaja Hanuman Temple Keeps Hyderabad's Heritage Alive

In the city of Hyderabad, there is a very old temple called the Champa Darwaja Hanuman temple.

It sits near the High Court, and people still come to pray there during festivals.

The temple is special because it reminds people of old Hyderabad.

Long ago, Hyderabad was a walled city with big gates called darwazas.

One of those gates was called Champa Darwaja, and the temple is connected to its memory.

The city wall was almost six miles long and had 13 big gates and 13 smaller doors.

It was built over many years by different rulers, including the Qutb Shahi, Mughal and Asaf Jahi dynasties.

The temple also has a very old well with a narrow opening that still gives clean water for daily rituals.

Much of the old wall and gates are gone now, but the temple keeps the memory of the past alive.

Visitors say it feels like old Hyderabad still survives there.
