Shriram Finance Q3 Profit Jumps 21%
Shriram Finance, a big lender in India, just shared its results for the last three months of the year.
They made a lot more money than expected, about 21% more!
This is because more people and businesses are borrowing money from them to buy vehicles and run their businesses.
A big bank from Japan, MUFG, is also investing a lot of money in Shriram Finance, which should help them lend even more in the future.
The company's total loans and the money they make from interest both grew a lot.
Meanwhile, Nuvama Wealth Management reported a largely flat net profit, with a small increase on a standalone basis.
Sundaram Home Finance also reported a 20% increase in net profit, driven by growth in their Emerging Business segment.
It's a good time for these finance companies!
Shriram Finance's adjusted profit rose 21.25% to ₹25.22 billion, beating analyst estimates of ₹24.15 billion.
The growth was driven by increased lending for commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and small businesses.
MUFG agreed to buy a 20% stake in Shriram Finance for $4.4 billion, which is expected to reduce the cost of funds and increase the loan book.
Nuvama Wealth Management reported a largely flat consolidated net profit of ₹254 crore, with a 3.5% increase on a standalone basis to ₹280.29 crore.
Sundaram Home Finance reported a 20% increase in net profit to ₹75 crore, driven by growth in their Emerging Business segment.
