IDBI Bank Q1 Profit Rises 5%
IDBI Bank recently shared its results for the first three months of the year.
The bank made more money from its main activities, called Net Interest Income, which grew by 10% compared to last year.
However, the bank's profit margins, which show how much it earns from its loans, decreased.
The bank's overall profit increased by 5% compared to last year, partly because it didn't have to set aside as much money for bad loans.
The quality of the bank's loans stayed about the same.
The bank's loans and deposits also grew, but the stock price is still lower than it was a year ago.
Overall, the bank did well in some areas but faced challenges in others.
IDBI Bank's Net Interest Income grew 10% year-on-year to ₹3,486 crore but fell 9% sequentially.
Net profit increased 5% year-on-year to ₹2,115 crore, aided by a provision write-back of ₹636.89 crore.
Asset quality remained stable with Gross NPA at 2.3% and Net NPA at 0.16%.
Net Interest Margins decreased to 3.61%, down 7 basis points year-on-year and 54 basis points sequentially.
Net Advances grew 22% year-on-year to ₹2.58 lakh crore, while deposits increased 10% to ₹3.25 lakh crore.
